South Dakota Schools

Before your new career can begin, you have to be trained. It’s often difficult to wait for the real thing, but for awhile you’ll be trapped in the world of training only medical transcription. South Dakota has three main schools that offer programs in medical transcription.

  • Kilian Community College in Sioux Falls
  • Southeast Technical institute in Sioux Falls
  • Presentation college in Aberdeen
  • Western Dakota Institute in Rapid City

Each school offers different degrees. Presentation College is currently the only institution offering a bachelor’s degree in medical transcription. The other three schools offer only an associate’s degree. If you have a preference of bigger or smaller college, it’s useful to know that the largest student population is at Southeast Technical Institute (2101 students) and the smallest population is at Presentation College (773 students).
